Author Submissions
Making its home at one of the nation's largest universities, the Michigan State Law
Review is focused on providing reliable and informative articles of benefit to both legal scholars and
practitioners. The Law Review gladly considers unsolicited manuscripts for publication. Notable persons who have
been published in the Law Review have included a United States President, United States
Senators and Congressmen, an FCC Commissioner, state senators and congressmen, state supreme court justices,
United States Court of Appeals Judges, law school deans, prominent professors and scholars of law, an American Bar
Association President, and local government officials including a mayor of a major city.
In accordance with our belief that scholarly debate benefits the legal community at large, we encourage the
submission of articles and essays discussing controversial ideas as well as new approaches to the practice of law.
Recent publication topics include the tax advantages of sport franchises, affirmative action in college
admissions, and the execution of juvenile offenders.
As Law Review staff, we are required to produce either a Casenote or a Comment for publication consideration.
Our student editors, therefore, understand all too well about how hard authors work to develop articles of
interest and to promote new ideas through the written word. Our detail-oriented and efficient production
process, coupled with one-on-one marketing efforts on our authors' behalf, results in an author-friendly
production process that we believe enhances the overall quality of our Law Review.
