NEWS & UPDATES

December 28, 2011

Our Fall 2011 Symposium, Lawyers as Conservators, was a rousing success, with the participation of judges, legal scholars, and the Michigan State College of Law Community.  A broad array of topics, covering a wide variety of challenges currently faced by the legal profession, sparked dialogue and discussion amongst the participants.  Articles inspired by the symposium are currently being written and making their way through the production process.

This spring, the Michigan State Law Review will host our spring symposium: Gender and the Legal Profession's Pipeline to Power.  The event will feature keynote speaker Linda Greenhouse, the Knight Distinguished Journalist in Residence and Joseph M. Goldstein Lecturer in Law at Yale Law School, as well as plenary addresses from Deborah Rhode, Ernest W. McFarland Professor of Law at Stanford Law School and Judge Nancy Gertner, Professor of Practice at Harvard Law School.

For those unable to attend the symposium, Bridget Crawford, Professor of Law at Pace School of Law will live-blog with posts appearing at the Faculty Lounge, Feminist Law Professors, and the Legal Ethics Forum. Participants’ remarks and articles will be published in a forthcoming issue of the Michigan State Law Review.

For more information or to register to attend, visit the Pipeline to Power page at the MSU College of Law website.
